This was so much fun to do, a quick project to which l added my newly acquired leatherette label

Saving the World (aka, using Handkerchiefs)

I came up with a "brainwave" yesterday - that I should stop using tissues and start using hankies, not only to reduce waste but also to reduce those nasty pieces of tissue residue left on clothes because someone unkindly left a tissue in their pocket when they put their clothing in the washing machine!

Anyhow, I have  few spoked edged hankies so yesterday/today using treble and chain, I crcohet an edge around my first hankie!  The edging isn't actually as bright as in the photo, but rather a lovely pastel lilac.

Zombie Bunny

I must admit I have a Zombie fetish at the moment.  I am hooked on a TV series called "The Walking Dead" and fascinated by Zombie-like creatures.   So much so, I just had to crochet this Zombie Bunny when I found the pattern as part of a Zombie crochet along, provided here http://thetheoryofcreativity.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/hey-guys-i-got-little-bored-so-to.html

Blooming Flowers Crochet Cushion

Well it took six months but I finally finished this crochet cushion by http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/blooming-flower-cushion.html/.  The reason it took me so long was I took a hiatus for a month or two (or even three) to try to locate a round pillow insert - they are IMPOSSIBLE to find.  Last week I decided to bite the bullet and make one which turned out OK, after all you are not going to see the insert because the crochet cushion will hide it (?right). 

The pattern was very easy with clear instructions and the wool I used was from Bendigo Woollen Mills.

Amiga Neck Cowl

Another Ravelry KAL and CAL completed using the loveliest of wool - Socks That Rock (Superwash Merino/Silk) in "Walking on the Wild Tide".   This pattern combines both knitting and crochet, and I think it is probably the first time I have made the one article using both processes. 

Jerry The Giraffe

Another CAL completed - this challenge was on Ravelry and Sharon's awesome design http://laughingpurplegoldfish.blogspot.com.au/.  Gerry is a crochet giraffe in Magnum acrylic and I think he is just gorgeous.  He has a lovely chain mane which unfortunately you cannot see in this photo.

Continuing on from my favourite book at the moment, I'd like to introduce Queen Vampire. Don't you just love her coiffured hair and attire.

Creepy Cute Crochet - Nosferatu

Number 2 complete - I am really enjoying working through this book, and the items are not that large, so can be completed in one day. Unfortunately because of the contrast between (black and white) it didn't photograph too well, very overexposed.

I am in love! At a recent lace meeting a lady introduced me to a book she had worked through called "Creepy Cute Crochet" - I fell in love and just had to get the book; whilst I had every intention to make the items I could contently sit there and just oodle the pages http://www.amazon.com/Creepy-Cute-Crochet-Christen-Haden/dp/1594742324

Hermione the Unicorn

Just completed another one of thge wonderful Dawn Toussaint's CAL's - this time I would like to introdeuce Hermione the Unicorn. This was a fun creature to crochet thanks again to Dawn's exceptional instructions http://dawntoussaint.blogspot.com/2011/08/september-cal-hermione-unicorn.html.

Crochet Ripple Quilt

I finally completed the crochet ripple quilt which was started last year. Acrylic was used to make this Lucy of Attic24 quilt; a very easy pattern, just a lot and lot of rows to make a decent sized rug.

Curly Scarf

These types of scarves are the latest trend with knitters. The yarn I used was Panda Sashay which is a polyester blend (basically it's got netting on one side and a more dense binding

which is used for the curling effect) - the Panda wool has glitter in this binding. Rather than knitting this yarn, I wanted a curlier effect so I used double crochet in the netting.

Green Grocer

Another CAL finished on track. This is a shopping bag for a Ravelry group - saves on using those nasty environmentally-unfriendly green bags.

Belfrey the Bat

Belfrey the Bat - Another wonderful Dawn Toussaint pattern. I crochet him in homespun and hand dyed BFL.

Roman, The Love Bird

Finished my "Roman The Love Bird" crochet-along, thanks to Dawn's generosity for supplying the pattern (Dawn's website is found here http://dawntoussaint.blogspot.com/). The nice thing about this pattern is that each bird can be so individual, and embellished any way.

Crochet Ripple Blanket

Here is another project I have started (surprise, surprise). It's a crochet ripple blanket in acrylic yarn. Whilst I can't remember the last time I used acrylic, I'm enjoying it the experience and the colours are really lovely (not quite so bright as the photo shows).

Crochet Hexagon Quilt

My latest, and long term, project is a hexagon crochet quilt. Inspiration for the quilt came from the fabulous http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/. Because crochet is so portable, I thought this is the perfect project to take with me when I am a passenger in a car, watching sport, or whatever. The yarn is pure wool from Bendigo Woollen Mills - just can't get better value for money.
